He joined in MJCET as lecturer in Mechanical Engineering in 1991 and later joined CBIT in 1992. He became Associate Professor in 1996 and Professor in 2003. Obtained excellent grade in teaching Metal Forming Technology, Mechatronics and CAM. Taught number of courses to the best satisfaction of UG and PG students as per the feedback.

He has supervised more than 100 B.E/B.Tech/AMIE Projects and 75 M.E/M.Tech Projects. He is the recognized supervisor to guide Ph.D in Osmania University & JNTU and currently guiding nine research scholars and recently one scholar submitted Ph.D thesis under his supervision. He is on the panel of Ph.D Examiners of School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Western Australia, Australia.

He has setup Metal forming lab in CBIT during 1993-94 and introduced Load cells for Measurement of Forming Forces in 1996-97 and Finite Element simulations in 1999-2000. He has established Automation lab in CBIT in 2002-2003.

He has published 49 papers in National and International conferences and Journals. He has been the invited speaker at International Seminar on Metal Forming & Forging at IISc Bangalore in 2003 & 2005. He is the key/resource person for many workshops, seminars and short-term courses and delivered expert lectures on Advances in Metal Working Techniques, Finite Element Simulations, Mechatronics, Automation and Robotics.

He has been awarded ‘Young Engineer of the Year’ in 1999 by the Institution of Engineers (India), AP State Center and Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. He was sanctioned a Research Project in Metal Forming titled "Study of formability and Process Parameters of New Materials in Metal Forming" for Rs 7.00 Lakhs by AICTE in 1999 and awarded the ‘Best Principal Investigator’ with excellent grade ‘A’ by AICTE in 2000-2001. He is the Recipient of ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award’ from KITS Warangal at their Silver Jubilee Celebrations in 2007. He is the Chief Coordinator of research consultancy project “Simulation studies on Explosively Formed Projectiles using Dynamic Analysis” sanctioned by DRDO for Rs 9.95 Lakhs in Dec’ 2008.

He organized number of STTP's sponsored by AICTE-ISTE and CFDME (O.U.) and in Collaboration with CITD & IEI. Associated in organizing All India Seminars and number of Round table conferences/Lectures/Talks to the satisfaction of Engineering Community at IEI AP State Center as Joint Hon Secretary during 2004-2006 and Hon. Secretary during 2006-2008. As Organizing Secretary, responsible for organizing successfully two national Conventions: 23rd National Convention of Mechanical Engineers on the theme of “Emerging trends in Manufacturing systems and Technologies” during 10-12 September 2007 & 22nd National Convention of Metallurgical and Materials Engineers on the theme of “Advanced Materials: Characterization and Processing” during 23-24 January 2009.

He is the Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and life member of ISTE, ISME and TSI (Tribology Society of India). He is the Committee member of the Institution of Engineers (India) from Mechanical Engineering Division for AP State Centre for the sessions 2002-2004, 2004-2006(Joint Hon Secretary), 2006-2008(Hon Secretary) and 2008-2010. He is the Member of AP State Productivity Council and Academic Council of State Board of Technical Education and Training for the session 2006-2008.

He is the reviewer for the Journal of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Mechanical Engineering Division since October 2007, International Journal Advanced Manufacturing Technology since October 2008 and Journal of Composite Materials since January 2009.

Dr Reddy Visited Singapore and presented two papers at the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Tribology during 3-5 Dec’2008, organized by the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Recently he received Engineer of the Year award-2009” on Engineers day Function held on 15-09-2009 from Govt. Andhra Pradesh & Institution of Engineers (INDIA) - AP State Center, Hyderabad.

Dr. Reddy took over as the Principal of MGIT on 29th October, 2009.
