Expert Lecture on “Business Model Canvas and Business Model Fit” Organized at MGIT

The Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC), Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), Hyderabad, organized an expert lecture on “Business Model Canvas and Business Model Fit” on 30th April 2026 for the students of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department.

The invited lecture was delivered by Dr. K. Venkatesh, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. The session focused on entrepreneurship development and creating awareness among students about startup ecosystems and business model strategies.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. G. ChandraMohan Reddy, Principal, MGIT, motivated the students to work towards establishing startups and encouraged them to explore innovative business opportunities alongside their technical education.

Dr. P. Pam Kishore Kumar Reddy, Head of the Department of EEE, briefed the students about the growing scope of startups and entrepreneurship opportunities for Electrical and Electronics Engineering students in the current technology-driven economy.

During the lecture, Dr. Venkatesh explained that the Business Model Canvas (BMC) is a strategic framework used to visualize and design the architecture of a business. He elaborated on the concept of Business Model Fit, which validates the commercial viability and sustainability of a business venture.

The speaker further emphasized that Business Model Fit is achieved when a value proposition is effectively integrated into a profitable, scalable, and sustainable business model. He explained that it is often considered the third stage in the startup validation process and plays a crucial role in transforming innovative ideas into successful enterprises.

The lecture witnessed active participation from students and faculty members of the institute, making the session highly interactive and informative.
