Expert Lecture on “Role of Cloud Computing in Building Smart Energy Systems”

The Industry–Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC), in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, organized an Expert Lecture on 07 November 2025 (Forenoon) as part of its regular IIPC activities.

The session featured Dr. B. Sainath, Senior Manager, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Hyderabad, who delivered an insightful talk on “Role of Cloud Computing in Building Smart Energy Systems.” The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both faculty members and students of the Institute.

In his inaugural address, Dr. G. Chandra Mohan Reddy, Principal, motivated the students to engage with emerging technological trends and address state-of-the-art challenges in the computing world. Dr. A. Nagesh, In-charge Head, Department of CSE, highlighted the importance of mastering cloud computing technologies and their real-time applications.

During his lecture, Dr. B. Sainath emphasized that cloud security tools play a crucial role in encrypting data and detecting anomalies to safeguard critical energy infrastructure from cyberattacks. He also discussed the significance of real-time analysis of energy usage patterns, grid performance, and demand fluctuations—enabling data-driven decision-making for efficient energy management.

The session concluded with a summary by Dr. K. Rajitha, Member of IIPC, followed by a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. P. Chandra Sekhar, Convenor, IIPC.
