Today, MGIT took a significant step towards enhancing academic-industry collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering & Telecommunications (IRISET). The MoU was signed by the Principal of MGIT and the Dean of IRISET in the presence of the Director General of IRISET, the Additional Director General of IRISET, Dr. S P Singh, HoD ECE, and Dr. P Negasekhar Reddy, Associate Professor of EEE, along with other senior professors from IRISET.

IRISET, established by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, in 1957, is a premier training institute dedicated to the specialized training of Railway Officers in Railway Signaling and Telecommunications. The institute is renowned for its skill-oriented faculty development programs, industrial training on Signal & Telecommunications, and expertise in the indigenous Automatic Train Protection (iATP) system, known as Kavach.

This partnership through the MoU will provide MGIT students and faculty with unparalleled access to IRISET’s advanced facilities and training resources. It will significantly enhance their understanding of railway signaling systems, particularly the Kavach system, thereby equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the field of transportation engineering.

MGIT is excited about the opportunities this collaboration will create for our academic community, paving the way for enriched learning experiences and contributing to the advancement of railway technology in India.
