The ISTE Students’ Chapter and the Institution’s Innovation Council of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) jointly organized MAGISTECH-2024, a two-day National Level Technical Symposium for engineering students, held on 13th and 14th September 2024. This event coincided with Engineers’ Day celebrations, honoring the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.

The symposium attracted around 650 students from across the country who actively participated in a range of competitions, including Paper/Poster Presentations, Circuit Amending, Robotics, 3D Printing, Code Unseen, Guess the Output, Electro Cache, and Tech Quiz. Other engaging events like CAD Design Competitions and Technical Quizzes were also organized, offering students an opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas and technical skills.

The event was inaugurated on 13th September by the Chief Guest, Prof. P. Krishna Reddy from IIITH-Hyderabad. In his address, he encouraged students to pursue their passions and contribute to the nation’s growth through innovative thinking and technology-driven solutions. He emphasized the importance of selecting fields of interest, avoiding social media distractions, and finding technological solutions for critical sectors like agriculture.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. P. Chandra Sekhar, Technical Director of 7S Technologies and Technical Advisor at Ramoji Film City, also inspired the participants by highlighting the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in modern industries. He encouraged students to apply data analytics and machine learning to solve societal problems.

Principal, Prof. G. ChandraMohan Reddy, stressed the need for students to bridge the gap between academia and industry, acknowledging the increasing recognition of the event across India. Vice Principal, Prof. K. Sudhakar Reddy, and Symposium Convener, Prof. S. Madhava Reddy, spoke about the lasting impact of MAGISTECH and the annual benefits it provides to students.
