About the BootCamp

The Department of Information Technology, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), is organizing a One-Week BootCamp on Agentic AI from 26 to 30 October 2026 for B.Tech V Semester students of IT and CSBS.

Agentic AI moves beyond chatbots that only answer questions. An AI agent plans a sequence of steps, reasons about what to do next, calls tools and APIs, and completes tasks with minimal human intervention. Over five days, participants build an agent from scratch, connect it to real tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), add retrieval, memory and planning, explore multi-agent systems and frameworks, and finish with evaluation, safety and a team capstone demo.

Programme Schedule

Day Theme Sessions
Day 1 · 26 Oct Anatomy of an agent The agent loop and autonomy · Prompting for agents · Lab: agent from scratch
Day 2 · 27 Oct Tools, MCP and multi-tool agents Model Context Protocol (MCP) · Multi-tool agents (ReAct) · Lab: multi-tool agent
Day 3 · 28 Oct Memory, knowledge and planning Retrieval (RAG) for agents · Memory and planning · Lab: research assistant
Day 4 · 29 Oct Multi-agent systems and frameworks Multi-agent patterns · Frameworks: LangGraph, CrewAI, agent SDKs · Capstone kickoff
Day 5 · 30 Oct Production and safety Evals, cost and safety · Capstone build · Demo day and valediction

Objectives

  • Explain the agent loop, and when an agent is — and is not — the right tool.
  • Connect agents to real tools and systems through MCP.
  • Add retrieval (RAG), memory and planning to agents.
  • Introduce multi-agent patterns and popular frameworks.
  • Teach evaluation, cost control and safety for agents.

Outcomes

  • Build a minimal agent loop with no framework.
  • Extend it with multiple tools, one served over MCP.
  • Build a research assistant that cites its sources and critiques its own drafts.
  • Ship a team capstone agent with eval cases and a safety guardrail.

Who Can Attend

  • B.Tech V Semester students of IT and CSBS, MGIT
  • No prior agent experience needed — basic Python is sufficient

What to Bring

  • Laptop with Wi-Fi, fully charged
  • Python 3 and VS Code pre-installed
  • College ID card and a notebook
