MGIT Conducts One-Week Workshop on “From Data to Insights: Big Data & Visualization”

The Department of Emerging Technologies, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), Hyderabad, successfully organized a five-day workshop titled “From Data to Insights: Big Data & Visualization” from 27th April to 1st May 2026 for B.Tech VI Semester students of CSM and CSD branches. The workshop was conducted in association with Teks Academy, a Software Edu-Tech company, with the objective of equipping students with practical exposure to modern Big Data technologies and visualization techniques.

The sessions were delivered by Mr. Ashwin Kumar, Data Science Trainer, Teks Academy. The workshop also witnessed the participation of Mr. K. Sreenath, Marketing & Communication Head, and Mr. Ch. Santhosh, Corporate Communication Associate, Teks Academy, who shared valuable insights on the latest AI-powered Big Data analysis and visualization methodologies.

The workshop provided extensive hands-on training in Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark, along with data analysis using Python and R programming. Students were introduced to data preprocessing methods, exploratory data analysis, and advanced data visualization techniques that are widely used in the industry.

As part of the workshop, participants actively engaged in practical exercises and project-based learning activities to strengthen their understanding of real-time data analytics applications. The program concluded with capstone presentations, where students showcased their learning outcomes and demonstrated their analytical and visualization skills.

The Department of Emerging Technologies expressed sincere gratitude to Prof. G. Chandramohan Reddy, Principal, MGIT, for his continuous encouragement and support towards organizing skill-oriented academic programs. The department also acknowledged the support of Dr. M. Rama Bai, Head of the Department of Emerging Technologies, and Dr. T. V. Rajini Kanth, Professor & Convener RDC, MGIT, for motivating students to participate in emerging technology initiatives.
