Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), marking a significant step towards enhancing technical education, research, and skill development. The MoU aims to facilitate Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), Bootcamps, and student internship opportunities in emerging technology domains.
The MoU was formally signed in the presence of Dr. Jayaraj U Kidav, Executive Director, and Dr. Lakshman Korra, Additional Director of NIELIT, along with Prof. G. ChandraMohan Reddy, Principal of MGIT, Professor and Head Dr. D. Vijaya Lakshmi and Prof. M. Rudra Kumar Department of Information Technology. The agreement underscores a shared commitment to bridging the gap between academic instruction and industry demands through structured, skill-oriented programs.
As an immediate outcome of this collaboration, the Department of Information Technology at MGIT will organize a Bootcamp on the Internet of Things (IoT) from April 7th to 11th, 2025. The bootcamp is designed to offer hands-on training and practical exposure to IoT technologies, empowering students with the skills necessary to meet contemporary industry expectations.
In addition to student training, the partnership will enable faculty members to participate in focused FDPs that address the latest trends in electronics, information technology, and allied areas. These initiatives are expected to enhance pedagogical methods and promote faculty engagement in cutting-edge research and innovation.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives from both MGIT and NIELIT emphasized the importance of institutional collaborations in building a future-ready workforce. They expressed confidence that the partnership will create meaningful pathways for academic growth, professional development, and technological advancement.
This MoU is aligned with MGIT’s ongoing mission to deliver quality education and foster an ecosystem of innovation, ensuring that both students and faculty remain at the forefront of technological evolution.
