Ekalavya, the sports fest of MGIT is one of the fests the campus is known across Telangana for. Ekalavya, named after the great student of Dronacharya, who was a human incarnation of focus, dedication and zeal for the sport of Archery. Ekalavya has continued to up the expectations and set benchmarks for itself over the years since its inception.
Ekalavya is an intercollegiate annual Sports Festival, which is conducted over a span of three days filled with sports activities in which staff and students whole heartedly devote their time and energy to make it a grand success. It is hosted for various outdoor & indoor sports. Each year, there is a huge competition consisting of various engineering colleges from all over the Hyderabad & Secunderabad , who participate in various fields of basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, throwball, table tennis and many more.
The sports fest sees active participation from all the students not only as athlete but also for organizational purposes. The unique feature of the sports fest lies in the fact that it is wholly managed by the students and while organizing it students witness sportsmanship of the highest order.
Ekalavya 2k22 has been conducted on 8th & 9th of April 2022. The Sports Fest was embraced by Prof. K Jaya Sankar, Principal, MGIT. Students from various colleges of Hyderabad & Secunderabad had taken part in different indoor and outdoor sports. The sports fest concluded with happy smiles and lot of knowledge from wins and losses. The respective event winners and participants were given their prizes and certificates. The enthusiasm and zeal of organizing staff and students, the healthy competition put forth by the participants and the oppurtunities provided by the faculty have made the event a success.
Nirvana Sports Fest is an annually conducted event which consists of Inter-Branch competitions in various outdoor & indoor sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, Chess and many more. This event is usually held one week before the cultural fest, for both Staff and Students.
Nirvana Sports Fest – 2K22 was conducted by the Dept. of Physical Education from 13-06-2022 to 28-06-2022 where students and staff from various departments/branches participated and held the name of their department high in the sky. The Event was inaugurated and embraced by the Prof. K Jaya Sankar ,Principal, MGIT. The Event was filled with participants with enthusiasm and zeal, which led to its success. The prizes and certificates have been distributed to respective participants.
The Freedom Cup 2K22 has been conducted by the Dept. Of Physical Education, as a part of Swathantra Bharatha Vajrotsava Dvisaptaham Celebrations, embarking the completion of 75 years of Independence. The Intracollegiate Event was held on 13th & 20th August 2022 in field of Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Carroms and Chess. The Event was inaugurated and embraced by the Principal. The Event was filled with participants with enthusiasm and zeal, which led to its success. The prizes and certificates have been distributed to respective participants.
