MGIT Hosts Enlightening Lecture on Indian Power Sector and Outage Management by Mr. T. Sreedhar

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has organized a lecture on “Overview of Indian Power Sector and Outage Management in Distribution Companies”.The lecture was delivered by Mr.T.Sreedhar, Assistant Divisional Engineer (Smart Grid), TSSPDCL, Hyderabad.Th event took place on July 25 2023 from 10AM to 12PM in E-701(Seminar Hall).

A total of forty five students from the second year of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program attended the session.The lecture provided a comprehensive understanding of various aspects related to Indian power sector and focusses on both the fundamental concepts and advanced outage management techniques.

Mr.T.sreedhar began the lecture by introducing the fundamentals of power generation,transmission and distribution,providing students with a soild foundation in the subject matter.He then reviewed the Indian power sector,highlighting the significant features.the lecture further explored Indian electricty act-2003,challenges associated with variable frequency, blackouts and necessity of smart grid.

The students were highly engaged throughout the lecture and actively participated in discussions with Mr.T.sreedhar.They had opportunity to interact with the invited speaker and gained insights into the latest trends being adopted in the industry.The session proved to be an enriching experience for the students as they received valuable knowledge and pratical insights from an expert in the field.

Following the lecture, the students expressed their gratitude to Mr.T.Sreedhar for his insightful presentation and the valuable discussions that took place.They provided positive oral and written feedback,expressing their satisfaction with the session and it’s relevance to their academic and professional interests.
