We’re talking career defining education.

Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) was established by the Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society (CBES) in 1997 and has maintained an excellent academic track record, standing among the top engineering colleges in Telangana. The primary objective of CBES is to create temples of knowledge to impart value-based education to the present and future generations of our country. MGIT is affiliated with JNTU, Hyderabad, and all eligible courses have been accredited four times by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. The Institute is also accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade and recognized by UGC under 2(f) and 12(b).

MGIT offers eleven UG Programs in Engineering with a total intake of 1140 and five PG Programs. The institute boasts 230 well-qualified faculty members, including 91 Ph.D. holders, with the remaining faculty registered for Ph.D. programs at reputed institutions. In 2022, MGIT was ranked among the best Engineering colleges in the band of 251-300 by MHRD’s NIRF. CSR-GHRDC rated MGIT as one of the top emerging engineering colleges of excellence from Telangana at the all-India level. The Week Magazine has also rated MGIT among the top 100 engineering colleges in India.

Situated in a serene and tranquil atmosphere at Gandipet, Hyderabad, the lush green campus of MGIT spans 30 acres of pleasant landscape with a constructed area of 2,50,787 sq. ft. Since its inception, MGIT has grown rapidly and is one of the premier engineering colleges in the self-financing category in Telangana. MGIT has recently received accreditation for 3 years for all 8 B.Tech programs from the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.

CBES was established in 1979 by an erudite and eminent group of trailblazers. The primary objective of this Educational Society is to create temples of knowledge. The atmosphere at MGIT is conducive to imparting essential technical skills and a wide gamut of requisite skills that groom students into responsible global citizens, ready for success. The institution, named after the father of the nation, lays great emphasis on value-based education. The campus is bustling with activities, assiduously supported by the management.

In a recent development, MGIT is honored to be conferred with autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi. The college offers courses in 11 Undergraduate Programs, including Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Mechatronics, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Business System, Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), and Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science). Brilliant and meritorious candidates seek admission into MGIT through an annual competitive examination called EAMCET.

For the last three years, about 75-80% of our students have been successfully placed through the college placement cell. Many of our alumni have opted to pursue higher education and are now well settled in different parts of the world in coveted positions.

The Institute, committed to education and innovation, started with three branches for undergraduate courses in Engineering with an intake of 180 students. Over the years, it has emerged as a dream destination for students seeking to excel in Engineering and Management education and offered them a rewarding career.

Stringent academic standards, industry-compliant teaching methodology, research projects from private and public sector industries in Engineering and Management, and consultancy practice have enabled the Institute to establish its identity in the field of technical education. MGIT is numero uno among private engineering colleges in both the Telugu-speaking states.

The practices and culture at the Institute have always been to provide quality education. The teaching-learning processes adopt a wide range of academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular programs in the existing state-of-the-art facilities. This provides the required exposure to a variety of social, cultural, intellectual, and recreational opportunities and challenges, enhancing the overall educational experience of students. Such learning experiences have enriched the lives of the students and helped them develop into multi-skilled, value-driven, wholesome personalities that ensure success in their careers and occupations. Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are planned and executed through numerous associations, clubs, societies, and students’ chapters of professional bodies, allowing students the necessary freedom to plan and execute challenging events. The college fest ‘NIRVANA’ is a scintillating mega event, and the constituent departments conduct equally enthralling annual technical symposia and conferences.

In its two decades and more of evolution, all the stakeholders of the Institute have relentlessly endeavored to position MGIT as a leader and innovator in the ecosystem of technical education. The Institute has established excellent infrastructure such as state-of-the-art laboratories, a spacious library with a collection of printed and digital books and journals, sports and hostel facilities, and infrastructure for extra and co-curricular engagements. In pursuit of academic excellence, MGIT has scaled great heights both nationally and internationally and made its mark in industry and academia.
