The Department of Physics & Chemistry is catering to the needs of students of all the disciplines of engineering imparting the knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Material Chemistry and Environmental studies. The Department has four well equipped and spacious laboratories with good infrastructure. Seventeen extremely capable, well qualified faculty members are engaged in teaching and research activities with a strong motivation and commitment. Curiosity driven frontier research in basic and applied sciences encapsulating the related interdisciplinary areas for sustainable development synergistic with effective teaching – learning process remains the strength of the Department. Staff members will always strive to advance their knowledge and level of competence for achieving further excellence by organizing/attending seminars, conferences and workshops besides taking up various administrative responsibilities. They are supported in their endeavor by a group of six highly efficient, enthusiastic and helpful non-teaching staff members, both on technical and administrative fronts. The faculty members also engage extensively in outreach and community development activities (under UBA, NSS, Swachh Bharat, UNICEF-WASH program, Special Camps, awareness programs etc.) that benefit the welfare of the society contributing to the prosperity of the Nation. Staff members also enjoy participating in sports and cultural activities. The Primary aim of teacher is to foster learning and hence, the department aims at providing the best facilities, infrastructure and good learning ambience for students and staff while continuously monitoring the curriculum development in tune with advances in science and technology. It strives to impart the value based education, mentoring the students to gain necessary skills and competence to achieve success in life.
